Thailand Adoption News Update

Thailand Adoptions

International adoption is only one answer to the epidemic of children without parental care. New Beginnings began placing children from Thailand in 1987. We work with the Thai Red Cross Children’s Home. The TRCCH is one of the most nurturing and caring orphanages placing children internationally. However, the number of children placed from Thailand to American families is less than one hundred a year. Thailand has developed a social service system that addresses the needs of most children, making international adoption one option among many.

The Thai Program takes up to two years to have a placement. It is restrictive on who can enter the program and the youngest children available are close to two years of age. Although in many ways it is an excellent program, families entering the program must bring their patience.
