The Prophet (PBUH) said, “There is no deed that is better in the sight of Allah or more greatly rewarded than a good deed done in the (first) ten days of Al-Adha”.
In this blessed month of Dhul Hijja for the Muslim community, New Beginnings is announcing the opening of it “Morocco Kafala Program”. This is an opportunity and a bridge for Muslim families to open their hearts and homes to abandoned and orphaned Muslim children from Morocco.
What a beautiful and rewarding deed one can do by giving an everlasting home to a child in need, of which Morocco has many. The orphanages they live in were well organized, clean, and contained all their basic needs. However, they only had a handful of loving but overworked caregivers. The thirst for love and attention was clear in the eyes of every child we met.
According to UNICEF, about 7000 children are abandoned a year, and the number has been growing since 2010. This is due to many reasons which include neglect, poverty, and social stigma of children born out of wedlock.
Our “Morocco Kafala Program” is a door for many of these children to have a second chance to have the blessing of being raised in a nurturing family environment with parents who pledge their unconditional love and protection. Kafala is a journey of mercy to ease the plight of orphans. It is with these thoughts and beliefs that our work will link these orphaned children with Muslim families by providing information, guidance, and support through every step of the process. We are now taking application from the waiting list.
May the blessings of the 10 days of Dhul Hijja reign over this program and makes it a “Sadaqa Jariah” for all staffs and volunteers of New Beginnings Family and Children’s Services and all the adoptive families in the world.
