CCCWA has expanded the eligibility requirements for prospective adoptive parents (PAPs). Previously single applicants could only be matched to a special focus child. Now, CCCWA will allow single mothers to adopt children from the shared list or be matched with a child without special needs. The age requirements have be relaxed as well. For couples older than 50, the age difference between the PAP and the adoptee should be no more the 50 years. It is the age of the younger spouse that prevails. For singles, the age difference is no more than 45 years.
CCCWA has changed the schedule for post-adoption reports and will allow for the submission of self-reports after three years. We will be posting the changes in post-adoption on our website in the coming days.
