Program Updates: Travel Conditions and Visa Approvals

New Beginnings continues to move forward with our Pakistan adoption program despite recent travel challenges affecting the region.

Ongoing political tensions and disruptions in the Persian Gulf have added to the complexities for families planning international travel. We continue to monitor travel conditions and government advisories to help families prepare appropriately.

We are pleased to share that, so far this year, four families have received approval of their Form I-600 petitions and their children’s immigrant visas. The U.S. Department of State has been issuing national interest exceptions for adopted children, exempting them from the January 2026 immigrant visa restrictions.

Families have generally been able to receive their children’s visas within approximately one week of the visa interview. These approvals represent important milestones as families complete their journeys and welcome their children home.

At the same time, additional families are preparing to travel to Pakistan to submit their dossiers and begin the matching process.

As with all international adoption programs, timelines may be influenced by factors beyond the control of families or the agency, including travel conditions, governmental processes, and regional developments.
