New Beginnings opened its China Program in 1994, and for the next 14 years, it became one of the most meaningful chapters in our history. During that time, 210 children were placed into permanent, loving families through New Beginnings.
Families often traveled in groups, sharing the experience of meeting their children for the first time and forming friendships that continue to this day. Many of these families lived here on Long Island—we knew them personally, celebrated milestones with them, and watched their children grow.
For us, our work in China was not only important—it was joyful. We remain grateful to every family who trusted New Beginnings to be part of their adoption journey.
